Health Festival

Hosted by the Teachers Health Trust in conjunction with the Clark County School District and Clark County Education Association, the annual Health Festival is an event that features health information from providers across the Clark County area. The goal of this event is to increase the health and wellness knowledge and awareness of CCSD licensed personnel as well as help participants reduce their risk for developing various diseases by arming them with prevention information. Those who attend the festival gain access to a number of incentives including:

Free Flu Vaccinations

All CCSD–licensed personnel eligible to enroll in a Teachers Health Trust plan may receive a free flu vaccination.

To qualify at time of registration, you must show:

  • A valid school picture ID and/or paystub
  • Photo ID

Dependents and guests may obtain flu vaccinations for $25.

Discount coupons will be available to all dependents registered by an active licensed employee eligible for a Trust plan at designated preregistration sites.

Pneumonia Vaccinations

Pneumonia vaccinations will be available to all festival attendees. Vaccinations will be $25 for all individuals who meet criteria set by the Health Festival's adminsitering physician.

Due to limited supply, pneumonia vaccinations will be administered on a first come, first served basis.

CPR/First Aid Training

Training will be hosted by CPR Connections of Las Vegas. The training session will be conducted from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Registration is $20 per person. Space is limited so be sure to RSVP using the link below.

Raffle Prizes

All active CCSD employees eligible to enroll in a Teachers Health Trust plan will be able to enter the raffle drawing. This year's raffle prizes include free golf outings, hotel accomodations, spa certificates, iPods, gift baskets and much, much more!

Free Glucose & Cholesterol Screenings

All CCSD–licensed personnel eligible to enroll in a Teachers Health Trust plan may receive free glucose and cholesterol screenings.

To qualify at time of registration, you must show:

  • A valid school picture ID and/or paystub
  • Photo ID

Dependents and guests may obtain glucose and cholesterol screenings for $10 per test.

For more accurate results, consider fasting for twelve (12) hours prior to the test. Please remember that lines may become long at the festival. Please consider this when deciding whether or not to fast.

Additional Health Screenings

An abundance of local health care professionals and vendors will be onhand to offer attendees a wide array of health screenings. Avialable screenings shall include vision, blood pressure, body fat analyses, EMG spinal, cavity, stress, adrenal gland, glaucoma and many more.

Relaxation & Massage Therapy

Enjoy a few minutes of relaxation and massage provided by local therapists. Additionally, chair massages will be offered by several vendors.

Family Fun

Face painting, fortune telling, balloon art, caricatures, cake walk, live entertainment provided by Dance Xpress and local student talent.

Free T–Shirts

The first 2,000 attendees will receive a free Health Festival 2K9 goodie bag, which includes a t–shirt and more courtesy of the Teachers Health Trust.

Free Lunch

Hamburgers, turkey burgers and veggie burgers with an assortment of toppings, chips and drinks will be available.
